Mr. John William Edwards, Jr., the son of Margie Farmer Edwards of Somerset, KY and the late John William Edwards, Sr., was born in Somerset, KY on February 6, 1952 and he departed this life on Tuesday evening, January 11, 2011 in the presence of his family, having attained the age of 58 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Linda Dalton Edwards on October 10, 1987, in Somerset KY, she survives. Other than his wife, and his mother, he is also survived by one sister, Cheryl Jean Edwards Burnett of Lexington KY, and a host of other relatives, in-laws, friends and church family. He also leaves behind his faithful companion and mans best friend, Sheena.
John was a retired press operator for the General Electric Glass Plant of Somerset, KY after having been employed there for more than 33 years. He was a member of the East Somerset Baptist Church and served the church as a deacon. John was a soft spoken person and a good listener. At the top of the list of things he enjoyed doing, would be hiking, and the outdoors. John was a wonderful husband, son and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the East Somerset Baptist Church with Rev. Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mr. John William Edwards, Jr. will receive friends at the East Somerset Baptist Church after 5:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning until after services.
In lieu of flowers family request expressions of sympathy to be made to the East Somerset Baptist Church Building Fund or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
