John Dancy

John B. Dancy, age 88, of Somerset, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at his home.

John was born on August 5, 1927, in Lynch, son of the late W.E. and Ethel McWilliams Dancy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. John was a retired machinist with Cincinnati Milocron. In retirement, his love was the lake; house boating, boating and fishing. John loved doing his yardwork. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his daughters, Penny Lynn (and Rick) Frazier, of Morrow, Ohio, and Candy Jo Dancy, of Somerset; his sisters, Betty Lou Woodson, of Eubank, Josephine Lillian Singleton, of Louisville, and Mickie Wilson, of Eubank; his granddaughter, Jamie Lynn (and Steve) Coffey, of Mainville, Ohio; his great-grandchildren, Savannah Lynn Coffey and Eli Alexander Coffey, both of Mainville, Ohio; his brother-in-law, Charles Lee, of Ohio; his sister-in-law, Hazel Dancy, of Ohio; and a special care-giver, Zanna Sizemore, of Nancy.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Olene Lovell Dancy, who passed away July 3, 2015; his brothers, Earl Dancy and James Dancy; and his sister, Thelma Jean Lee.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 12:00 noon, in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will follow the visitation in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Harold Harris officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
