o Ann Burkett Hunley, Formerly of North Hwy. 1247, Somerset, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 18,2011 at Somerwoods Nursing Home, Somerset, KY after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 2,1940, in Winsor, KY., daughter of the late William Howard Burkett and Ethel May Roy Burkett. She was a retired seamstress from the Palm Beach Clothing Company and Caldens Clothing company in Stanford, KY. Jo Ann was a faithful member of the Clifty Road Baptist Church, Somerset, KY, while her health permitted . She loved her church and helped in any way she could to help spread the gospel. She especially loved Bro. Randy Wiles, she loved everyone and never met a stranger. She was always happy and jolly and a pleasure to be around. She was loved by all that knew her.
She was united in marriage to Lowell Hunley on December 11,1959 and he passed away on October 05,2005.
She is survived by a son, Ronald(Ronnie) Hunley of Somerset, Ky. And grandchildren, Brandon Hunley and Celestene Swartz, also a great grandson, Cameron. Sisters Pearlie (W.N.) Jones Mt. Victory, KY, Linda (Hunter) Denny, Somerset, KY, and Sue (Clyde) Singleton of Eubank, KY, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and a very special friend and caregiver, Diane Moore who became "family" to Jo Ann and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers; James H. Burkett, William L. Burkett, and Robert J. Burkett, infant twin sisters June and Jewell Burkett.
Funeral services will be Friday April 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Wiles Officiating burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Jo Ann Hunley will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday April 21,2011.
The family request expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Clifty Road Baptist church and/or the Gideon Memorial Bible plan.
