Jason Scott Hislope, age 19 of Somerset passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

 

He was born on Sunday, April 25, 2004 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of Jason Douglas Hislope and April Hall. Jason was a 2021 graduate of Southwestern High School. He enjoyed outdoor activities including “four wheeling” and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and playing video games. Perhaps his greatest passion was spending time with his family and enjoying eating and sampling their favorite dishes. Jason was a loving, kindhearted and generous person who was always willing to help others. He attended the Bogle Street Church of God and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

 

Jason is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents; Earlin and Vonnie Oakes.

 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents; Jason (Sonya) Hislope and April Hall all of Somerset, two brothers; Isaiah Hislope and Paul Storie, five sisters; Brianna (Crisean) Carpenter, Navaeh Hislope, Peyton Storie, Tiara Dobbs and Destiny Hall, maternal grandparents; Connie Brashaw and Mike Hall, Paternal grandparents; Marilyn Harris and Douglas (Susan) Hislope, two aunts; Teresa (Pat) Hansel and Kathy Smith, an uncle; Derek (Keri) Harris, his great grandparents; Norman and Nancy Hislope, a niece; Olaya Carpenter, his girlfriend; Emily Fulcher as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 12, 2024 in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Eric Barnes officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Pat Hansel, Derek Harris, Nathan Keeney, Eddie Hali, Bo Mounce, Gunner Mounce, Crisean Carpenter and Blake Wright.

 

In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Jason Scott Hislope Memorial Fund in care of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory, 113 North Main Street, Somerset, Kentucky 42501. You may also offer condolences and sign the online Tribute Book at www.somersetundertaking.com.
