Hazel Absher

Hazel Lucille Bishop Absher, 92, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born in Eubank, Kentucky on March 8, 1923, daughter of the late Chester and Vida Estes Bishop. She was a homemaker and a member of Etna Church of Christ.

She is survived by three sons, Don & (Judy) Absher and Ron & (Matalene) Absher, both of Science Hill and Glen & (Ruth) Absher of Somerset, three sisters, Marie Bishop of Eubank, Aline & (James) Cooper of Lebanon, TN and Faye & (Silas) Shelton of Kennard, IN, one brother, Charles & (Mary) Bishop of Eubank, five grandchildren, Monty & (Angela) Absher, Marci Absher, Matthew & (Alyssa) Absher, Darron & (Stacey) Absher and Jonathan Absher and six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma, Elise, Cameran, Aedyn and Maddie-Sue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hubert Absher, who died on July 20, 2009, her parents, one sister, Hettie Winstead and brother-in-law, Ernest Winstead.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shawn Bain officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
