Gregory Meece

July 18, 1978 — October 12, 2016

Gregory Allen Meece went to be with his Savior on October 12, 2016 at the age of 38. He was the son of Danny Wayne and Shelia Mullins Meece of Somerset, Kentucky.

He is survived by his grandmother, Juanita Meece, his parents, his brother, Christopher Ryan Meece (and wife, Amber), his niece Addison Paige, and his nephew, Asher Cole, who was born on his birthday. Special children in Greg's life who meant a lot to him are Adrian Pocasongra, Eden Coleman, Michael Price, and Kaley Messamore. He loved his uncles and aunts: Rick (and Joan) Meece, Teresa (and Jeff) Claunch, Gordon (and Shirley) Mullins, Ellendell (and Jerry) Harbour, Richard Mullins, and Barbara (and Danny) Adington. Very special and loved cousins were: Casey Claunch, Jeffery Harbour, Denise Adington Stares, Darrin Adington, Jennifer Harbour, Richard (Rick) Mullins, and their children.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Clinton and Minnie Mullins, paternal grandfather Everette Meece and cousin, Michael Mullins.

Greg was born on July 18, 1978, in Somerset, Kentucky. Other than a short time spent working at Triple M in Lexington, Kentucky, he has lived in Somerset all of his life. He last worked at Anderson Office Equipment where he had the opportunity to develop many friendships at the offices in and around Somerset. From the time he began working at about fourteen years of age until he had a stroke in January, 2014 he has been a hard, dependable worker, often working when he did not feel up to it. Being independent was always important to Greg. He attended the Somerset Independent Schools and earned his Associates Degree in Electronic Technology from the Somerset Community and Technical College.

Greg had many loves. He especially loved listening to music and playing his guitar, playing computer games, and getting together with family and friends. Greg learned to ride a bike, one his Papaw Meece had bought at a yard sale for 1.00 and spent the afternoon working on, at two years old - and it had no training wheels! It seemed Greg always loved motorcycles and his favorite pastime was riding his Harley Davidson Sportster, which he always referred to as his "baby!"

Greg was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, but in recent years attended The Creek Somerset where he played bass guitar in the band until he became unable to do so. Greg was very kind-hearted, non-judgmental, and was always wanting to help people who were having difficulties.
