Glen Welsey Molen

Glen "Wesley" Molen, 93 of Nancy, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset after an extended illness.

 

Wesley was born on July 12, 1930 in Nancy, Kentucky, son of the late John P. Molen and Anna “Ruth” Pierce Molen. He was a hardworking and dedicated farmer and enjoyed it until his health declined. He often said, “farming is my life”. He proudly served his Country with honors in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Wesley was a kind-hearted, generous and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was of the family of God and of the Baptist Faith and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

 

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife; Lillian “Bernice” Daulton Molen, who passed away in 2012. They were married June 2, 1952 in Rossville, Georgia. He is also preceded in death by a sister; Lola “Freeda” Wilson, a brother; John F. Molen who died in infancy, a step-sister; Betty S Fitzgerald, a step-brother; Billy G. Trimble, and a son-in-law; Lloyd Lawson.

 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two sons; Glen Allen (Connie) Molen and Jeffery C. (Polly) Molen, two daughters; Anna L. Molen and Mary C. “Cathy” Lawson, three brothers; J. Donald (Christine) Molen, Bobby F. (Sandy) Molen and Ronald D. (Mila) Molen, his grandchildren; Richard (Teri) Short, Natalie (Doug) Underwood, Amanda Barber, Thomas (Kristy) Molen, Jeremy Molen, Matthew (Molly) Molen, Cody (Shandra) Lawson, and Christy (David) Myers, twelve great-grandchildren a brother-in-law; Larry (Katheleen) Daulton, several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

 

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Butte Officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
