Gladys Johnson age 85, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Monday, October 26, 2020.
Gladys was born September 6, 1935 to the late Orbin Vanover and Linnine Taylor Vanover in Parkers Lake, Kentucky.
She attended New Beginnings Worship Center and enjoyed crocheting, traveling, gardening, flowers, square dancing, home making, cooking, going to Church and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Orbin and Linnine Vanover, her 1st husband, Samuel Darwin Tate II, son, Samuel Darwin Tate III, brother, Harold Vanover, and granddaughter, Misty Jean Watkins.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, James Johnson, daughters, Vickie Lynn Linnins of Somerset, Rena Maleea Campbell of Somerset, son, Mark Lee Tate (Karen) of TN, daughter, Ramicah Jean Johnson (David) Palatka, FL, stepsons, Dewayne L. Johnson (Ruth) of Knox, TN, Bret Johnson (Cheryl) of Nicholasville, stepdaughter, Jennifer Morris (Rick) of Muncie, IN, sister, Glenis Irene Amick of Surprise, AZ, grandchildren, Johnathan Terrill Hall-Tate, Heather Ann Rogers, Samuel Darwin Tate IV, April Michelle Cushard, Dustin Woodraw Watkins, Mark Lee Tate, Amber Marie Davis, Kimberly Maleea Barker, Donna Tate, Samuel David Johnson, Sophia Johnson and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home, a comital service will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Richard Ramsey officiating.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Gladys Johnson.
