Gerdine Sears

Gerdine Sears, age 85, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Gerdine was born on April 3, 1935 in Somerset, KY., to the late Vola Adkins and Linda Ridner Adkins.

She is survived by a son, Jason Sears, of Somerset, KY; three daughters, Carla Cook of Somerset; Darla Miller of Somerset; and Karen Lawrence of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Amanda Gass, Zachary Meece, Amy Dockery, Jameson Glover, Cayla Weaver, Kira Dixon, Astra Sears, Sierra Mullins, Marah Albright, Payton Sears, and Aleah Sears, many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (and Joyce) Adkins of Somerset, KY and Dale (and Carol) Adkins of Pensacola, FL; and one sister, Alfreda Tuggle of Somerset, KY.

Along with her parents, Vola and Linda Adkins, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Sears of whom she married on January 26, 1955 in Tennessee and he preceded her on April 19, 2009. She is also preceded by a son, Chuck Sears, and two sisters, Maxine Bell and Fern Katter.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private visitation will be held for the immediate family at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

A private funeral service will follow at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
