Georgia Mae Taylor, age 93, of the West Somerset Community, beloved wife of the late Harold Taylor, departed this life on May 24, 2016 at home.
She was born on June 14, 1922 in Ferguson, KY., the daughter of James Isaac Clark and Omia (Burton) Clark. She was a retiree of Watsons Department Store. She enjoyed sewing and playing the organ from 1957 to 1975 at West Somerset Baptist Church.
She is survived by five children, Wayna Wright of Burnside, KY; Harold Wesley Taylor Jr. (and Linda Loveless) of Mt. Washington, KY; Nita Taylor of Somerset, KY; Gary Taylor (and Shirlene Epperson) of Somerset, KY; and Melody Taylor of Somerset, KY; one brother, Gene Clark of New Castle, IN., one sister, Virginia Littrell Hix of Mission, TX; a daughter-in-law, Pam Girdler Taylor of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren, Byron (and Tamera) Wright of Somerset, KY; Ryan (and Erin) Wright of Tallahassee, FL; Brent (and Karen Boone) and Travis Taylor of Mt. Washington, KY; Tammie Taylor of Bardstown, KY; and Clayton Monroe Taylor of Somerset, KY; 6 great grandchildren, Wesley James and Zachary Taylor of Mt. Washington, KY; Rachel and Jackson Wright of Somerset, KY; and Lauren Paige and Alyssa Brooke Faber of Bardstown, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wesley Taylor, Sr., whom she married on August 11, 1940 and preceded her in death on March 6, 2009, one son, Gilbert Marshall Taylor, a son-in-law, Charles Wright, three brothers, Dumont Clark, Robert Clark, and Chester Clark, one sister, Luvina Clark.
She will be fondly missed by family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Larry Butte officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers will be B.J. Wright, Brent Taylor, Clayton Taylor, Travis Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Wesley James Taylor, and Ryan Dustin Wright.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
