Ellen Lucas

Ellen Joyce Lucas, age 75 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care.  

She was born on August 25, 1947 in Pineville, Kentucky, daughter of the late JB and Katherine Martin Dennison. She had worked as a Registered Nurse at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved taking care of others and enjoyed her job as a Registered Nurse. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.  

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Olice Oscar Lucas, Jr; sons, Olice Oscar (Loria) Lucas, lll  of Somerset and Jeffrey (Scarlett) Lucas of Harlan, KY; daughter, Deborah (Michael) Mullins of Somerset; her grandchildren, Phillip Lucas, Ashley Jones, Bryant Lucas, Jeffrey Lucas, Jr., Jacob Lucas, Katlyn Mullins, Hailey Mullins; and several great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
