Elizabeth Dodson

Elizabeth Graybeal “Betty” Dodson, of Somerset, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 in Bowling Green KY.  Born in Harlan KY May 17, 1928 and raised in Somerset KY.  She is predeceased by her parents, Millard Earl and Jemima Willis “Jimmie” Graybeal of Somerset, one sister, Jane Graybeal Bryant of Lexington and her loving husband, Lawrence Binford “Jargo” Dodson of Somerset.

A longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother.  She was an avid golfer and a gourmet cook-loved trying new recipes and entertaining family and friends.  She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, participating in Garden Club, and was very talented with her knitting needles-she was famous in her family for beautifully knitted sweaters, scarves and of course, the personalized Christmas stockings and Christmas tree skirts she handcrafted for her family.

Survivors include two children, Larry Dodson (Debbie) of Myakka City FL and Betsy Rodgers (Phil) of Russellville KY, five grandchildren, Rob Dodson (Joli) of Middlebury IN, Heather Ferrara (Nick) of Bradenton Fl, Lindsey Meneely (TJ) of Myakka City Fl, Michael Rodgers (Kristen) of Russellville KY and Elizabeth Duffer (Brandon) of Franklin KY and five great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset KY on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. EST with Bro. Alan Woodard officiating.  Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
