Edith May Phelps, 83, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Somerwoods Nursing & Rehab.
She was born in Russell County, Kentucky on October 25, 1932, daughter of the late Sarah Foster. She was a homemaker and a member of Campground Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Michael & (Luann) Phelps of Eubank, Linda & (Cary) Burton of Rosewell, NM and Eddie & (Rita) Phelps of Somerset. She is also survived by her beloved dog of 16 years, Charlie, six grandchildren, Mikey Phelps, Kim Summers, Chris Tomlinson, Jennifer Todd, Jill Luckett and Justin Ramsey, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Norma Jean & (Buddy) Lockard and two sisters-in-law, Alberta Barron and Evalene Phelps.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Phelps, whom she married on January 1, 1949 and who died on May 10, 2011, her mother, one daughter, Martha Elizabeth Phelps, who died in infancy, two brothers, Joe Foster and Gordon Foster and one sister, Fayrene Fass.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse and Chris Tomlinson officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
