Edith Baugh

Edith Pauline Hail Baugh, age 87, of Somerset, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born on January 8, 1930 in the Strawberry Community of Pulaski County to the late Charles L. Hail and Helen Phelps Hail. She was united in marriage to Virthel Baugh on June 25, 1949 at First Baptist Church in Somerset. He preceded her in death.



Edith had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1946. She worked as a seamstress at the Palm Beach Co. and sales clerk at Young World and Tiffany's and United Department Store. Edith loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed feeding birds and wildlife and loved her kids and grandkids. She truly loved her Sunday School class and church at First Baptist. She was a member of the Palm Beach Retirees, Young at Heart, Order of Eastern Star and AARP.



Edith is survived by son James Craig Baugh (Glenna) of Lancaster, KY; daughters, Sherri Mounce (James Earl) of Somerset and Sharon Denise Hensley (Larry) of Lexington; brothers, Bert E. Hail (Rita) of Corbin, Walter Hail (Carol) of Somerset and Terry Hail (Norma) of Somerset; sister, Connie Merrick (Leslie Lewis) of Somerset and four grandchildren, Megan Brook Ray (Ryan) of Somerset, Joshua Christian Mounce of Tampa, FL, James Craig Baugh of Somerset and Joseph Christopher Baugh (Lia) of Lancaster; and sisters-in-law, Lerleen Hail and Doris Hail.



Visitation for Edith Baugh will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 beginning at 5:00 pm at First Baptist Church. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.



A celebration of life honoring Edith Baugh will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Dr. French Harmon officiating.



Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.



Pallbearers will be Scott Hail, Ryan Ray, Eddie Hail, T. J. Merrick, Joseph Baugh and James Baugh.



The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Television Ministry of First Baptist Church or the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, 128 N. Main St., Somerset, KY 42501.
