Dorothy Long

Dorothy Long, age 88, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at her home.

She was born on December 15, 1931 in Fleming, Kentucky, daughter of the late Sam and Idell Tamer Hush.  Dorothy was a member of Neon First Church of God and a member of Eastern Star. She loved to read, sew, cook, and especially spending time with her grandson. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; William Jennings Long, brother; Sam Hush, Jr., and sister; Mary Jo Crider.

She is survived by daughter; Doralda Gilbert of Somerset, two sisters; Alice Hazen and Daisy Tucker, and her grandson; Christian Gilbert (and Jessica).

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Wicker officiating. Eastern Star services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
