Dorothy Jones

Dorothy Jones, age 75, of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Monday, October 24, 2016 at her residence.

Dorothy was born in Paintsville, KY, on October 5, 1941 to the late Ira and Melissa Greene Sparks. Dorothy is a retired manufacturing supervisor for Golden Grain, and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, Rodney (and Diana) Jones of Nancy, KY; a daughter, Pamela Jones of Nancy, KY; four brothers, Bill (and Debbie) Sparks of Peachgrove, KY, Dewey Sparks of Silvergrove, KY, James Sparks of Mason, OH, and Ralph (and Roberta) Sparks of Lebanon, OH; four sisters, Gladys Rice of Chicago, IL, Ruth (and Ben) Shelton of Albany, KY, Hazel Rice of Paintsville, KY, and Gene (and George) Grainger of Peachgrove, KY; fourteen grandchildren, Emily Haynes, Kaitlin Haynes, Mark Haynes, Rodney Jones Jr., Robert Jones, Leah Jones, Michael Jones, Sandra Jones, Cody Rose, Dustin Rose, Steven Antrim, Lee Day, Leslie Jones, and David Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Jazlynn Jones, Dexter Jones, Simon Jones, Dash Jones, Miles Jones, Corinn Johnson, and Annaleise Johnson.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Jones, whom she married on July 7, 1962 in Chicago, IL, and preceded her on March 27, 2002; a son, Glen Jones; three brothers, Leslie, Carl, and Earl Sparks; and a sister, Francis Shelton.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 27, 2016 after 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Sparks officiating. Entombment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
