Doris Brown

January 25, 1943 — August 23, 2023

 

Doris May Brown, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  She was born in Whitley City, KY on January 25, 1943 to Amp Gregory and Marie Gregory.  Doris was a member of 1st Apostolic Church for over 35 years. She had a deep, unwavering love for Jesus. Her faith in him was the foundation of her life.  She loved her family and her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. She was a hard worker.  She enjoyed cooking, taking walks and tending her garden.

Survivors include her children, Deborah (Arthur) Johnson of Burnside; Sammy Lee Brown of Louisville; Donald Ray Brown and  Connie (Edward) Figueroa of Somerset ; Tammy Gay (Ronnie) Sears of Science Hill;  Lavina Joy (Jason) Brown; Randy Dean (Christina) Brown and Danny Burch Brown, of Somerset, grandchildren. James, Christopher, Christina, Rebecca, Anthony, Donald Brown, Jr., Theresa, Justin Brown, Mollie Brown, Chad Brown, April, Frank, Jewell, Charles, Robert Alan Miller, Joseph Miller, Jessica Miller, Brandy (Zach) Cook, Trevor, Sam, Tyler, Mandy (Nathan) and Allee Glover, Dustin Burdine, Derek (Jaylyn) Burdine and many, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren including, Maliyah, Bentley, Maylee, Jaycee, Kadence and Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam Brown; one son, Charles Gregory; one daughter, Lisa Donovan and several brothers and sisters including Butch Sears and her twin brother, Morris Gregory.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 1st Apostolic Church, University Drive, Somerset, KY  42503 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with her funeral service to follow on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm at 1st Apostolic Church with Pastor Joe Cox officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, KY.
