Donald "Toodie" Jones

April 22, 1984 — January 15, 2024

Donald Ervine Jones, Jr. affectionately known by his family as “Toodie”, transitioned from this earth peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024 at his residence.  Toodie was born on April 22, 1985 in Indianapolis, IN to Donald and Linda Jones.  He was a great conversationalist, loved to socialize, enjoyed working to find the “right beat” with his stereos, tinkering with cars and bicycles and helping with home repairs… his favorite things were his family, football, his Momma’s cooking, watching his son Zay play football for the Briar Jumpers and talking with his daughter Alliyah about her future plans. Donald professed faith in Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Linda Jones Newell and Steven Newell of Burnside; one daughter, Alliyah Jones; one son, Zasha Jones “Zay” and his mother, Sonia Phelps, all of Somerset; a brother, Jose Jones of Indianapolis; two aunts, Kay Newell of Somerset and Kassy Jones of Louisville; and a host of cousins and friends who are saddened by his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ervine Jones, Sr.

Visitation will be on Wednesday January 24, 2024 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY  42503.  His funeral service will follow on January 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Douglas officiating and burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be, Junior Newell, Ameer Miller, Solomon Curens, Michael Curens, Marcus Barber “Diesel”, Brandon Payne and Fernando Canello.  Honorary pallbearers are Mikayle Newell, Bella Curens, Rolisa Jones, Uriah Newell and Essence Gilmore.
