Cordelia Black

Cordelia Letner Black, 88, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.

She was born in Scott County, Tennessee on February 9, 1923, daughter of the late Henry and Hettie Slaven. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Fashioned Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping and time with family.

She is survived by two sons, Paul & (Phyllis) Letner of Nancy and Ralph & (Kim) Letner of Nancy, four daughters, Jeanette Richards of Science Hill, Lucille & (James) Chumbley and Mary Lou Letner, both of Eubank and Debbie & (Danny) Shuler of Mt. Vernon, KY, twenty five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Letner, her parents, one son, Junior Letner and four brothers, Walter, Mitchell, Clarence and Austin Slaven.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Ivey officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
