Cody Ryan Clifford Wilson, age 27, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY after a three week struggle with a sudden illness.
Cody was born on March 26, 1987, in Somerset, KY, to Lisa Marlene Gossett Wilson and the late Gregory Neal Wilson. Cody is a 2006 graduate of Southwestern High School; where he enjoyed playing football. He attended Somerset Community College and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Master's Degree in Liberal Arts. He had formerly worked for Wal-Mart and Kroger, and was currently a supervisor at Oakwood. He loved UK football and basketball, his fantasy football league, trading sport cards and enjoyed all sports. Cody was a kind and precious soul that will be missed by all.
He is survived by his mother, Lisa Marlene Gossett Wilson of Somerset; a brother, Cameron Austin of Somerset; two sisters, Lisa Burton Wilson of Harlan, KY, Gabrielle Wilson of London, KY; a grandmother, Virginia Wilson Hollen of Nancy, KY; a special godmother, Mary Sams of Winchester, KY; two aunts, Keitha (and Allen) Barnett of Somerset, and Teresa (and Timothy) Tarter of Nancy, KY; an uncle, Danny Wilson of Nancy, KY, a niece, Kayli Holts of Somerset; his fiancé, Ariana Owens of Somerset; a step-son, Gauge Coffey of Somerset; a step-daughter, Savannah Hurd of Somerset; along with many cousins, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Neal Wilson; a grandfather, Eldridge T. "Pa" Wilson; grandparents, Clifford and Shirley "Nana" Gossett; an uncle, Larry Wilson; an aunt, Melinda Gossett, and an infant nephew, Jayden Taylor.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13, 2016 after 5:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. O'Neal Wade and Pastor Darvie Fenison officiating. Entombment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
