Charles Gibson

Charles "Bud" Gibson, age 68 of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Charles was born on February 28, 1947 in Whitley City, KY to the late Porter Gibson and Dorothy Upchurch Gibson Toler. He was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed his church activities and preaching until he became ill. Charles also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Gibson; two sons, Charles (and Amber) Gibson, Jr. and David Wayne (and Deanna Fleming) Gibson both of Somerset; two daughters, Tammy (and Mike Cox) Gibson and Beverly Gibson both of Somerset; a brother, Michael Gibson of Okeechobee, FL; two sisters, Patricia (and Gary) Cox of Georgetown, KY and Shelia (and Carlos) Maxwell of Whitley City, KY; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Jasper, Jessica Jasper, Charles Jasper, Jennifer Sexton, Corina Sexton, Sara Gibson, Austin Gibson, Betty Ruark, Derrick Ruark, Kyler Fleming and Kurtis Fleming; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrel Gibson, Coy Cox who he raised as his son; and a grandson, T.J. Jasper.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 28, 2015 after 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Zuhars officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Raymond Dick, Matthew Jasper, Michael Cox, Charles Jasper, Josh Dick and Cameron Bryant.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Connie Gibson in memory of her husband, Charles "Bud" Gibson.
