Billy Wilson

On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, Billy D. Wilson, loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 87.

Billy was born on September 6, 1934 to the late William "Dinah" Talmidge Wilson and the late Lucy Foster Wilson. In April of 1973, Billy married Orvetta McPheron, his beloved wife, who preceded him in death on April 1, 2015. Billy was a horse trainer and horse man in every sense of the word, riding, showing, selling, trading, and buying horses all of his life. He was happiest riding a horse or finding a good one for someone else and he was the former owner of Wilson Stables.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife, Orvetta McPheron Wilson; six brothers, Orville, Edgar, Frankie, Ray, and Herbert Wilson and William Talmidge Wilson who died in infancy; and one sister, Kathleen West.

Billy is survived by three children, Billy D. Wilson, Jr. (Phyllis), Connie (Wilson) Burks (Barry), and Andrea Wilson Gregory (Kevin); eight grandchildren, Justin Kyle (Allison) Wilson, Billy D. (Jessica) Wilson III, Alexandria Gregory, Chloe Ann Gregory, Amy Jones, Crystal Jones, Andrew (Alicia) Burks and Kimberly (Brent) Jones, 15 great grandchildren, Sonny Allen Wilson, Annie Claire Wilson, Jazlyn Rae Wilson, Aubrey Lucille Wilson, Luciana Josephine Wilson, Christopher Swift, Phillip (Summer) Swift, Sierra (Derek) Morrow, Caleb Evans, Wilson Evans, Rease Jones, Taren Jones, Oliver Burks, Ellie Burks and Matilda Burks & four great great grandchildren, Braleigh Swift, Gracelynn Swift, Wyatt Swift and Finley Morrow.

He was a kind and generous person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Butte officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family of Mr. Billy Wilson will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time for services.

Pallbearers for the funeral service of Mr. Billy D. Wilson will be Billy D. Wilson III, Justin Kyle Wilson, Andrew Burks, Phillip Swift, Dennis Price, and Brad Hewitt.
