Betty Shadoan

October 11, 1930 — December 5, 2017

Betty Jean Shadoan, age 86, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Betty was born on December 11, 1930 in the Burnetta Community to the late Henry Green Flanagan and Winnie Schoolcraft Flanagan. She was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Shadoan whom she married on June 21, 1947 in Somerset; one daughter, Linda Newman of Somerset; one sister, Louise Flanagan Dobson of Lakeland, FL; one granddaughter, Ginger (and Shannon) Thompson; three great grandchildren, Asher Thompson, Zoey Thompson and Brayden Walker; many other family members, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Walker; one sister, Glenda Flanagan Water; son-in-law, Claude E. Newman; and one brother-in-law, E.C. Dobson.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Chandler and Bro. Adrian Parker. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Asher Thompson, Shannon Thompson, Curt Shadoan, Jerry Jasper, Gerald Nichols and Ron Coffey.

In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Langdon Street Baptist Church.
