Betty Jo Muse

Betty Jo Muse, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on May 9, 2023 after a lengthy illness with her husband and family at her bedside, and went to meet Jesus and her heavenly friends.  The daughter of the late Bob Ryan and Della King Perry was born in Jellico, TN on September 4, 1954 and had attained the age of 68 years 8 months and 5 days.

Betty is survived by her husband, Eric (Rick) Muse of 47 years 2 months and 5 days; 2 stepchildren, Brock and Charlene Muse of Somerset who she loved like her own. A brother, Mike Ryan and his wife Donna and a niece Lindsey Ryan of Whitley City, KY; a stepfather, Starin Perry of Stearns, KY and many relatives and friends.

Betty was last employed by Congressman Harold Rogers where she worked as a receptionist and assisted veterans of whom she really enjoyed.  Betty was a people person loved being around family and friends.  She loved boating, riding motorcycles, car shows and going to yard sales. Betty will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Grant and Bro. Landon Sexton officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Steve Muse, Dwight Muse, Brock Muse, Ryan Muse, Mark Burnett and John Burnett.  Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Sims and Charley Farley.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland in memory of Betty Jo Muse.
