Betty McClendon

Betty Jane McClendon, 92, of Nancy, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab.

Betty was born on March 28, 1928 in Powell County, KY to the late Albert M. Holmes and Helen Conn Holmes.  She was a member of the Retired Teacher Association. Betty was the first secretary for the Faubush Fire Department when they opened in 1984.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold McClendon, whom she married on July 10, 1948 in Somerset, KY and he preceded her February 27, 2008; one daughter, Rebecca Ann McClendon; three brothers, Jack Raymond Holmes, Albert B. Holmes and Hugh M. Holmes; and three sisters, Louise H. Wilson, Eleanor H. James and Edith Barnes.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Monday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Miller and Bro. Donovan Burton officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
