Bennie Godbey

Bennis Christopher Godbey, 83, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.

He was born in Pulaski county on April 19, 1936, son of the late Henry Wallace and Nancy Margaret Spears Godbey. He was a farmer and a bus driver for the Pulaski Co. School System. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge #255 and Denham Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ina (Thompson) Godbey; a son, Benny Ray & (Debra June) Godbey of Somerset; four daughters, Deborah Lynn & (Ed) Taylor of Frankfort; Dianna Faye & (Bruce) Frye and Patricia Ilene Wilhelm, both of Somerset; Robin Mischelle & (Bobby) Hudson of Science Hill; a brother, Floyd Godbey of Ohio; two sisters, Gladys Leasch of Louisville; Norma Wilhoite of Noblesville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 3 Step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Marie Whitis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeffrey Griffith officiating.

Burial in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
