Arlus Herman Roberts age 95 of Faubush, KY passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born on May 30, 1920 in Faubush, KY to the late Wesley and Aggie VanHoosier Roberts.
Arlus was a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He was also a former Sunday School Teacher for the Adult Mens Class.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Aggie Roberts; his wife, Viola Belle Roberts; five brothers, Ola ,Glenco ,Leonard , Chester and Estel and seven sisters, Beulah, Marie, Versie, Vella, Aggie, Leatta and Stella.
He is survived by three sons, Edward (Fran) Roberts of Somerset, KY; Roy (Dana) Roberts of Nancy, KY and Danny Pete (Sheila) Roberts of Eubank, KY; four daughters, Anna belle (Richard) Walters of Faubush, KY; Zeola (Willis) New of Shopville, KY; Mary Rethie (Meredith) Scales of Russell Co. and Evelyn (William Hack) Sullivan of Somerset, KY. Ten grandchildren, Barry (Regina) Bray, Melinda (Chris) Browning, Rhonda (Brad) Hewitt, Julie (John) Gillum, Shanoah Roberts, Whitney (Joe) Estes, Jennifer (Seth) Stephens, Lee (Amber) Hall, Kelly (Kyle) Wilson and Dustin Roberts; seventeen great-grandchildren, Anna Beth Bray, Sarah Canada, Josh Canada, Hanna Browning, Amylia Browning, Braxton Hewitt, Henry Gillum, Elise Gillum, Alexa Stephens, Owen Stephens, Cne' Layne, Kellan Layne, Andrew Estes, Aurielle Estes, Camdyn Hall, Logan Wilson and Hadley Wilson. Also survived by one sister-in-law, Oneida Wilson, several neices and nephews and a special friend, Doris Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 22, 2015 after 5PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 11AM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Murrell Crockett officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
