Anna Cook, age 96, of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.

Anna was born on January 6, 1920, in Nancy, KY, to the late George and Earl Light Simpson. Anna was a Homemaker and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary (and Phyllis) Cook of Nancy, Jerry (and Kathy) Cook of Nancy; a daughter, Trudy (and Bernie) Denham of Nancy; a brother, Lindell Simpson of Nancy; a sister, Alfreda Tarter of Somerset; two grandchildren, Shannon (and Lesia) Cook, and Shaun (and Jerry) Sweet; five great-grandchildren, Jessica (and Billy) Sturgill, Nichole (and Taylor) Cundiff, Kyra Hylton, McKenzie Cook, and Eli Cook; four great-great-grandchildren, Michael Blackburn, Charley Cundiff, Natalie Cummins, and Tyson Sturgill.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Cook, whom she married on September 9, 1939 in Science Hill, KY, and preceded her on December 28, 1993; and two sisters, Geneva Tarter and Edith Wilson.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Caldwell and Bro. Norman Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
