Phyllis Pauline “Granny” Foster, age 90 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on May 10, 1929 in Yamacraw, Kentucky, daughter of the late Curtis and Edna Gibson King.

“Granny” loved her flowers, working in the garden and cooking. She loved to babysit and, had babysit for more than one hundred kids in her lifetime. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Vestel Foster whom she married on January 10, 1952 in Smithtown, Kentucky, her stepmother; Elizabeth Taylor King, one son; Vestel Lee Foster, Jr; one great-granddaughter, Kylee Neeley; five brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by a son; Robert (Lisa) Foster, three daughters; Vesta (Jesse) Wells, Phyllis Neeley and Ella (Chester) Phelps, all of Somerset, one brother; Linville King of Hanover, Indiana, two sisters; Sue Badder of Michigan and Fayrene Graves of Hanover, Indiana, four grandchildren; Katrica (Robert) Hughes, Travis (Sarah) Phelps, Lacy (Cliff) Cowan and Michael (Jamie) Neeley, all of Somerset and twelve grandchildren. She is also survived by other family members and a host of friends who will  miss her.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Bro. David Harmon officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clifton Cowan, Robert Foster, Cagen Baker, Michael Neeley, Travis Phelps and Robert Hughes.
