Margie A. Wilson, age 83, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on June 18, 1935 in Somerset, daughter of the late Harold “Bud” and Jewel Hatter Avera.

For forty-five years she was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 2 and 3 year olds. She was a light to the community and was known as “Little Miss Daisy” by her son Dennis. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially fixing desserts for her brother Leonard. Margie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Wilson; daughter, Donna Fitzgerald, and brothers, Bro. Harlan Avera and Harold Avera, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Wilson of Somerset, Duane (and Shawn) Wilson of Somerset and Donald (and Bonnie) Wilson of Pittsburg, PA; daughter, Debbie Dunaway of TN; brother, Leonard (and Janice) Avera of Somerset; grandchildren, Cullen Wilson, Codie Wilson, Alexus (and Josh) Wadsworth, Hannah Wilson, Justin Dunaway, Tyler Dunaway, Barbara Wilson, Donald “DJ” Wilson and Michelle (Val) Martinez, eight great-grandchildren, and a special neighbor who was like family, Christine Farmer.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Dr. James Floyd officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Langdon Street Baptist Church 2-3 year old Sunday School Class.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Margie A. Wilson.
