James Foster

James “Jimbo” Edward Foster, age 68, of Nancy, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

He was born on May 5, 1950 in Faubush, Kentucky, son of the late Elma L. and Ruby E. Thomas Foster.

“Jimbo” loved to rebuild cars, but what he loved most was playing golf. He was a graduate of Nancy High School Class of 1968, where he played basketball for the Nancy Dragons and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him but we know that our loss is truly Heaven’s eternal game.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Clifford Norman Foster, Kenneth E. Foster, Lee Foster and Paul Foster.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Foster; daughter, Jamie Foster Coffey of Somerset; brother, Edwin Pierce (and Bonnie) Foster and sister, Eunice (and Paul) Foster Punghorst, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; one grandson, Jeffery Jordan Coffey of Somerset, many nieces and nephews and numerous golfing friends.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January, 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Gary Phelps and Bro. Merrill Crockett officiating.

Interment will be in lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Gideon’s Memorial Bible Plan.
