Ila “Doris” Flynn, age 85, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.
Doris was born on October 29, 1933 in Naomi, KY to the late Ottis Trimble and Roxie Dagley Trimble. She worked at Palm Beach for over eleven years and was a former member of the Pulaski County Homemaker’s Club. Doris enjoyed helping her husband on their Dairy Farm. She was a member and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Finis Flynn, whom she married on September 15, 1951 in Pulaski County; one daughter, Rhonda (and Garnett) Burkett of Nancy; one sister, Emma Kate Thomas of Riverview, MI; two grandchildren, Chris (and Julie) Williamson and Megan (and John) Burnett; and five great-grandchildren, MaKayla Williamson, Kayla Williamson, Jazlyn Williamson, Taylor John Burnett and Emma Grace Burnett.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Delbra Williamson; father-in-law, Veantus Flynn; mother-in-law, Ada Jane Roberts Flynn; and two brothers-in-law, Joseph V. Bonanno and J.S. Thomas.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Harris and Bro. Lester Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Taylor John Burnett, Chris Williamson, Garnett Burkett, John Burnett, Toby Bostwick, Mike Flynn, James Hislope, Jerry Prone and Glen Tarter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund or Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
