Daniel Eugene “Gene” Dalton, age 77 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

He was born on June 16, 1942 in Gibson City, Illinois, son of the late Dan and Lena Floyd Dalton.

He was the owner and operator of Gene Dalton Masonry and a graduate of Pulaski County High School Class of 1961. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Nancy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Lillard Dalton and sister; Wilma Dean Cummings.

He is survived by his wife Judy Dalton, whom he married on December 12, 1987 in Sevierville, TN, sons; Timothy “Frog” Dalton of the Slate Branch Community and Scott (Cynthia) Vito of Somerset, daughter; Amy (Roy Jr.) Epperson of Nancy, brother; Louie (Katie) Dalton of Slate Branch Community, sisters; Faye (Jim) McIntosh of LaGrange, Freda (Bob) Cundiff and Joyce Craig, all of Somerset, grandchildren; Nathan Epperson, Matthew Epperson, Ashley LaPorte and Logan Vito, and great-grandchildren; Dylan LaPorte, Hannah LaPorte, Axel Epperson, Adelynn Epperson and Leyton Decker.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Brown and Bro. Daniel Harper officiating.

Entombment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew Epperson, Denver Miller, Logan Vito, Scott Vito, Paul Jones and Nathan Epperson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Floyd Family Cemetery Fund.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Daniel Eugene “Gene” Dalton.
